Pluto in Aquarius: A Shift in Power, Systems and the Collective

Pluto in Aquarius is not a quick change. It is a deep one.

This is about long term shifts in power, systems, and how we function as a collective.

Pluto moves slowly, so its influence is felt over years rather than moments. When it changes signs, it marks the beginning of a broader transformation that unfolds gradually over time.

In simple terms, this is a shift in how power works, both individually and collectively.

As collective voices grow louder and awareness awakens, existing systems are often forced to evolve.

What is Pluto?

Pluto is linked to transformation, power, control, and rebirth. It tends to work beneath the surface, gradually reshaping what no longer feels sustainable.

Its influence is not always immediate, but it is lasting. Pluto often brings endings that eventually lead to new beginnings, exposing what has been hidden and pushing deeper change where something has outgrown its current form.

Unlike Uranus, which tends to move suddenly, Pluto works slowly. It reveals, transforms, and rebuilds over time.

What is Aquarius?

Aquarius relates to the collective, innovation, technology, and social systems. It reflects how we connect within groups and communities, and how ideas spread through the wider public.

There is a forward thinking quality to Aquarius. It looks ahead, questions the norm, and explores alternative ways of organising society. While Leo focuses on individual expression, Aquarius tends to focus on the wider network and the role each person plays within it.

This makes Aquarius deeply connected to collective movements, social awareness, and the idea that change can happen when people come together around a shared vision.

Aquarius and Leo: Mind and Heart

mind vs heart

Aquarius sits opposite Leo, so it is helpful to look at the balance between the two.

Both signs are fixed, which means they can hold focus, stay committed, and build momentum over time. The difference is in how they express it. Aquarius is fixed air, working through ideas, systems, groups, and the collective. Leo is fixed fire, working through creativity, confidence, visibility, and personal expression.

In simple terms, Aquarius can be seen as the mind of the collective, while Leo brings the heart, warmth, and individual spark.

With Pluto moving through Aquarius, there may be a deeper transformation around how personal expression fits within the wider group. It can raise questions around individuality, belonging, leadership, and whether the needs of the collective still leave space for the individual voice.

There may also be growing conversations around identity, social values, representation, inclusion, and freedom of expression. As collective movements evolve, society may continue redefining what it values and how those values are expressed publicly.

At times, this can create tension between personal identity and collective ideals. Leo seeks authentic self expression and individuality, while Aquarius often focuses on the wider group and shared social vision. During this transit, people may feel pulled between standing out as themselves and aligning with the expectations or beliefs of the collective.

This is not necessarily about one side being right or wrong, but about society moving through changing perspectives around identity, belonging, expression, and social awareness.

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus

Aquarius is ruled by Uranus, the planet linked to disruption, awakening, innovation, and change.

Uranus tends to challenge what feels outdated, bringing sudden shifts, breakthroughs, and new ways of thinking. In Aquarius, this energy becomes more collective, often showing up through social movements, evolving technologies, and changing ideas around freedom and progressive ideas.

With Pluto moving through Aquarius, these themes are not just introduced, they are transformed at a deeper level. It is not simply about new ideas appearing, but about the systems beneath them being reshaped over time.

Pluto in Aquarius themes

Collective Transformation

When Pluto moves through Aquarius, the focus shifts towards transformation within collective systems and social structures.

This can show up through changes in technology, evolving power dynamics, and new ways of organising communities and networks. Questions around equality, freedom, ownership, influence, and collective voice may become more visible over time.

There can also be a growing rebellion around any imbalance and who actually holds power within society, how that power is used, and whether existing structures still reflect the needs of the wider collective.

This is not just change, it is a deeper restructuring of how society operates.

Pluto does not simply introduce new ideas. It transforms the foundation they sit on.

A wider shift taking place

This transit does not happen in isolation.

With Uranus moving through Gemini, there is also a faster layer of change with instant information that is happening alongside Pluto’s deeper transformation. Uranus speeds things up, while Pluto works beneath the surface, reshaping the systems behind them.

Pluto in Aquarius combined with Uranus in Gemini can reflect how quickly collective movements now organise and spread through technology. Social media, group chats, livestreams and even gaming platforms can connect people almost instantly, allowing ideas, protests, and social causes to gain momentum at incredible speed. What once may have taken months to organise can now happen within hours through a single post, Hashtag, or viral moment.

Timeline of this transit

Pluto entered Aquarius in 2023, briefly moving between Capricorn and Aquarius before settling more fully into the sign from 2024 onwards.

It remains in Aquarius until around 2043 to 2044, making this a long cycle of gradual transformation.

Pluto also turned retrograde in Aquarius on 6 May 2026 and remains retrograde until 16 October 2026.

Retrogrades tend to shift the focus inward, encouraging reflection, reassessment, and a deeper awareness of what may be changing beneath the surface. With Pluto in Aquarius, this can place greater attention on collective or humanitarian causes.

As visionary and intellectual ideas surrounding structures begin to evolve, outdated systems are challenged and stripped away. With Pluto in Aquarius, deeper questions around, power, corruption, and collective change start to emerge.

Looking back: Previous Pluto in Aquarius cycles

The last time Pluto moved through Aquarius was between 1778 and 1798, a period marked by major shifts in power structures and collective movements.

This era saw the American and French Revolutions reshape ideas around authority, freedom, and the role of the people within society. Existing systems were challenged, while new political and social frameworks began to emerge.

History also shows how periods of collective change can challenge long established belief systems and dominant institutions. The Protestant Reformation reshaped religious authority across Europe, questioning existing power structures and changing how people related to faith, leadership, and individual belief. These kinds of shifts reflect the deeper themes often associated with Pluto and Uranus together, where pressure builds against dominant systems and transformation emerges through disruption, reform, and collective awakening.

History shows that Pluto transits often coincide with periods where collective voices grow stronger and existing structures come under pressure. More recently, the Uranus Pluto alignments of the 1960s reflected civil rights movements, anti war protests, counterculture movements, and wider demands for social change.

While history never repeats in exactly the same way, similar themes around reform, power, and collective awakening often re emerge when these longer planetary cycles become active again.

Power, politics and transformation

This shift can already be seen within the current political and global landscape. Pluto often brings attention to power, how it is held, and how it is used, particularly when existing systems begin to feel strained or outdated.

There can be a noticeable tension between established structures and emerging ideas. Traditional authority may be questioned, while collective voices become louder and more organised. At times, this can appear as a divide between governments and the public, corporations and communities, or leadership and the wider collective.

Pluto is also associated with exposure. What has been operating beneath the surface can gradually come into view, particularly around influence, control, corruption, or decision making. This does not usually happen all at once, but through a slow process of pressure, revelation, and transformation.

During Pluto retrograde periods, these themes may become even more reflective or intensified beneath the surface. Conversations around equality, activism, climate, identity, freedom, and collective rights may re emerge or gain renewed public attention. Movements such as BLM, Just Stop Oil, or Free Palestine reflect Aquarius themes linked to collective voice, social awareness, and challenging existing systems.

Rather than viewing this purely as conflict, it can also be understood as part of a wider process of transformation. As structures are challenged, there is an opportunity for them to evolve, adapt, or be reshaped into something more aligned with the current landscape.

Pluto does not just challenge power, it reshapes how it exists.

A connection between Uranus, Pluto and Neptune

There is also a wider connection between the outer planets that adds another layer of context to this period.

Uranus and Pluto together often reflect moments of collective change, where themes of power, revolution, and awakening become more visible. Aquarius naturally links to the people, community, and collective voice, so this can sometimes show up through demonstrations, protests, or wider pushes for equality and freedom.

We have seen similar patterns before. During the 1960s, Uranus and Pluto were closely aligned, with support from Neptune through a sextile aspect, often described as a window of opportunity. This period coincided with civil rights movements, anti war protests, counterculture movements, and the eventual end of the Vietnam War. There was a strong sense of questioning authority, challenging existing systems, and imagining new ways of living and organising society.

In the current cycle, Pluto is now moving through Aquarius while Uranus continues its journey through the zodiac, suggesting that themes connected to collective voice and social awakening may once again become more visible over time.

Neptune adds another layer to this dynamic. It is often linked to ideals, imagination, spirituality, dreams, and collective emotion. At its highest expression, Neptune can reflect compassion, unity, unconditional love, and the desire to connect to something beyond the material world.

Together, these outer planets describe not just change itself, but the deeper motivation behind it. Pluto reshapes power, Uranus awakens and disrupts, while Neptune inspires the vision of what could be.

Technology, systems and the collective

Pluto in Aquarius often aligns with major developments in technology and the way it shapes society.

This can show up through evolving digital systems, changing online spaces, and new ways for communities to organise and connect. Questions around ownership, information, privacy, and influence may also become more significant as technology continues to develop.

At the same time, there can be growing awareness around who benefits from these systems, who controls them, and where clearer boundaries may be needed.

It is not just about innovation itself, but about how innovation changes the balance of power within society.

There may also be growing conversations around digital rights, privacy, surveillance, and the increasing influence large technology platforms have over everyday life. As technology becomes more integrated into society, questions around ownership of personal data, online identity, and individual freedom within digital spaces may become more significant.

This can already be seen through debates around AI, online safety laws, platform regulation, and growing awareness of how much daily life now depends on digital systems. Measures introduced for protection and safety may also raise wider discussions around privacy, control, and where boundaries should exist between collective security and individual freedom.

At the same time, Pluto in Aquarius may reflect a growing desire for people to reclaim more ownership over their digital identity, information, and online presence. This can show up through renewed interest in privacy, decentralised platforms, digital autonomy, and greater awareness around how technology shapes both society and personal behaviour.

A current example of this energy

You can already see this shift in how people organise and connect. Online communities, decentralised platforms, and collective movements have become more visible, with ideas spreading rapidly across digital spaces.

There is also growing awareness around data, privacy, digital identity, and the influence technology has over daily life. As systems become more interconnected, people may become more conscious of both the opportunities and the power dynamics that exist within them.

Bringing it back to you

This is where the transit becomes more personal.

Looking at your chart can help give context. Noticing which house Aquarius sits in, along with any aspects Pluto is making, can highlight where these themes may become more noticeable over time.

The house points to the area of life involved, while the aspects can describe how the transformation may unfold beneath the surface.

Because Pluto works slowly, this process is often experienced gradually rather than through immediate or sudden change.

.

Wherever Aquarius sits in your chart, that is where this transformation is likely to be felt over time.

If it falls in the:

1st house, it may relate to identity, self expression, and personal transformation.

In the 2nd house, it may connect to values, income, security, or changing attitudes towards resources.

In the 3rd house, the focus may shift towards communication, learning, mindset, or your immediate environment.

In the 4th house, transformation may involve home life, family dynamics, or emotional foundations.

In the 5th house, it may reshape creativity, self expression, hobbies, romance, or enjoyment.

In the 6th house, themes may emerge around work, routines, health, or daily responsibilities.

In the 7th house, relationships and partnerships may evolve or transform over time.

In the 8th house, deeper emotional transformation, shared resources, or themes around trust and power may become more significant.

In the 9th house, beliefs, learning, travel, or personal philosophy may shift and evolve.

In the 10th house, transformation may play out through career, ambition, or public image.

In the 11th house, friendships, communities, networks, and collective involvement may change.

In the 12th house, the focus may turn inward, bringing reflection, healing, or deeper psychological awareness.

Final thought

Pluto in Aquarius reflects a longer term shift in systems, power, and the collective.

It does not rush, but it does transform.

Over time, it can reshape how we connect, how systems function, and where power sits. What begins beneath the surface can gradually become impossible to ignore.

Change may not always be visible straight away, but it is often working quietly in the background, slowly creating space for something new to emerge.

A New Beginning?

As we enter 2025, some significant astrological changes are unfolding. The slower-moving planets will briefly shift from feminine to masculine signs before returning. Mars-related themes will dominate the first half of the year. Mars opposes Pluto in January and April, creating moments of tension and opportunities for transformation. These alignments may make us reflect on our sense of self, our relationships, and the meaning of community.

In March, Neptune moves into Aries, followed by Saturn in May and Jupiter in June. These planetary shifts will focus on letting go of outdated ideas about identity and ego, as well as restrictive beliefs. This energy encourages bold new beginnings and pushes us out of our comfort zones toward a fresh vision of the future.

July brings the first alignment of Saturn and Neptune, intensifying the focus on dissolving old, rigid structures. Over the next few years, we might see traditional top-down systems face pressure to evolve or collapse entirely.

Also in July, Uranus enters Gemini for the first time, channelling the energy of change into communication, media, science, and new ideas. The Lunar Nodes, which shift signs in January (North Node to Pisces, South Node to Virgo), could steer innovation toward more compassionate and spiritually aligned goals rather than corporate interests.

Between May and September, as many outer planets briefly change signs (except Pluto), we might catch a glimpse of what lies ahead beyond 2026.

But first lets take a look at the key highlights for January!

Full moon in Taurus

November 15th brings a potent and transformative Full Moon in the sign of Taurus. The full moon will occur at 24 degrees of Taurus at 9:28 PM GMT.

The Taurus Full Moon opposite the Scorpio Sun and conjunct Uranus brings a mix of stability and surprise, blending the familiar with the unexpected. The energy of this full moon challenges us to balance security with change, as Uranus pushes us to break free from any stagnant or outdated routines. Emotional revelations could surface, highlighting hidden truths and prompting bold, unexpected shifts. It’s a time for releasing what no longer aligns with our values whilst giving us a subtle reminder to stay grounded.

Taurus is represented by the steadfast bull. It is an earth sign ruled by Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and pleasure. Known for its steady, grounded nature, Taurus values stability, sensuality, and security in all forms, from financial resources to emotional bonds. A full moon in this sign spotlights these themes and encourages us to focus on what we need to feel safe, nurtured, and materially supported. It’s a chance to assess what really brings us comfort and where we might be clinging to stability at the expense of growth.

The conjunction with Uranus in the same sign is a call to break free! Shaking us out of any old of patterns through upheaval and disruption. Uranus is the planet of revolution, rebellion, and innovation, It’s influence has been here shaking things up since may 2018. Uranus is the Awakener its purpose is to bring change, it has the ability to bring forth new revolutionary vision. Uranus is freedom. It defies tradition and embraces change and originality. As a collective on the worlds stage, we see particular themes that continue challenging the status quo in matters related to finance, agriculture, technology, and our relationship with the environment. These topics are bound to continue to be up for review and could potentially change the way we do things in the future. So whatever comes to an end might be sudden, unexpected, unusual, and potentially controversial.

On a more personal level, the conjunction with the full moon could bring a heightened need or urgency for change, inviting us to step out of our comfort zones and embrace the unknown. Either way, there’s a potential here for sudden breakthroughs, surprises, and shifts that could feel both thrilling and unsettling. We might be called to liberate ourselves from entrenched routines or material attachments that no longer reflect our evolving values. There’s a chance to examine our relationship with resources and consumption that could bring opportunities’ of a new sustainable way of living. If there’s an area of life where we’ve felt stagnant or restricted, Uranus’ influence is likely to shake things up, providing an opportunity to approach life with fresh eyes.

Saturn also stations direct on the 15th, something that was covered in the last article. Saturn in Pisces brings a blend of realism and dreams, urging you to confront deep emotions, spiritual growth with discipline. It encourages building practical foundations for creativity, compassion, and healing.

Beliefs vs. Analytical Approach

Mercury in Sagittarius is opposing Jupiter in Gemini, bringing a tension between expansive ideas, beliefs, and detailed analysis. This aspect has curiosity but creates tension that can create a tug-of-war between wanting to explore big-picture concepts and getting caught up in smaller details. My version of the truth versus yours! It suggests communication could feel intense yet scattered as we push forward with broad-mindedness but requires focus to avoid exaggeration or miscommunication in our interactions.

Introspection before Action

Adding to the energy, Pluto in Capricorn is still opposing Mars. However, this time in Leo, which creates a powerful clash between control and pride, as intense ambition meets a need for personal recognition. This energy stirs a battle of wills, demanding balance between assertive self-expression and strategic restraint.

Pluto, The Last Hurdle Before Aquarius

Continuing with the theme of change is one of the most important aspects of the year. Pluto fully switches into Aquarius on the 19th, continuing to bring about profound transformation, symbolizing a major societal turning point. Although it’s not part of the full moon per se, Pluto’s ingress into Aquarius, the following week, has a huge influence on the unfolding story as it has been hovering at the critical 29th degree of Capricorn. This final degree is often referred to as the “anaretic” degree and carries with it a feeling of intense karmic energy. Pluto’s journey through Capricorn since 2008 has been a time of deep, transformative work in Capricorn’s realms of government, institutions, authority, and structures. As Pluto reaches the end of this transit, we are likely to see the culmination of lessons related to power, control, and integrity.

When a sign is at the anaretic degree, the energy of that sign becomes highly concentrated and demands resolution before moving forward. In Capricorn, this final push could potentially bring revelations around entrenched power dynamics, broken systems, and outdated hierarchies. It’s a moment of purging, where what can not withstand the test of integrity could be stripped away.

With Pluto in Aquarius, the energy is shifting from an emphasis on the old hierarchical structures to ones that prioritize innovation, collective empowerment, and visionary thinking. Grass roots up! Pluto in Aquarius also represents a radical shift in how we relate to one another as a society, valuing freedom, equality, and collaboration over rigid systems and top-down structures.

A Time of Profound Transformation

While Taurus urges us to ground ourselves and focus on what truly matters, Uranus reminds us that security must also be flexible, adaptable, and aligned with the times. In short, we are being asked to release outdated structures and embrace a new era.

The message is clear. Bringing focus to our need for stability, with our desire for freedom. Its highlighting our need to break free from restrictive norms in favour of a future that supports growth, equality, and sustainable progress. Change may be challenging, especially for fixed signs like Taurus, but it’s also incredibly rewarding, offering us the chance to build a future that honours both our individuality and our interconnectedness.

In summary, this is a powerful moment that combines the energies of grounding, disruption, and transformation. It’s here to remind us that true stability lies not in resisting change but in adapting to it. It’s a time to release what no longer serves, make room for innovation, and embrace the unknown with excitement and courage.

Remembering to take a step back and observe helps us to stay grounded and can aid us in embracing change!

A Time for Deep Transformation

The New Moon in Scorpio is at 12.46 GMT, Scorpio the sign associated with intensity, transformation, and introspection. As with every New Moon, this marks a time of new beginnings and fresh starts. However, with Scorpio’s influence, this particular new moon implies deep introspection and a chance to visit the deeper karmic patterns within us. Themes around this time suggest, connecting with your inner power, examining emotional reactivity, managing emotional energy and the opportunity to connect with our inner power.

Persephone

Scorpio, a sign associated with mystery, transformation, and depth, Ruled by Pluto, its the planet of rebirth and regeneration. Scorpio asks us to look beyond the surface, delving into the more complex aspects of our lives and relationships. It’s a time for introspection, healing, and shedding old skins and patterns to emerge stronger. Its the story of Persephone, who was the daughter of Demeter (Ceres), who was abducted by Hades (Pluto) and taken to the underworld. Her mother’s grief caused the earth to wither in a harsh unending winter, eventually a deal was struck with Hades so that she could spend part of the year in the underworld and the rest of her time with her mother. It would be winter when she is in the underworld, and spring when she returns, so its a story of seasons. However the deeper meaning behind Persephone’s descent into the underworld, mirrors our own underworld experience such as dealing with loss and trauma. Persephone’s story is about embracing transformation, finding resilience through hardship and embodying the cycle of life, death and renewal. Her story is a metaphor for the journey into the darker aspects of our psyche or circumstances where we experience life’s more challenging and hidden sides. Persephone ultimately became the queen of the underworld, her role highlights the connection between the world of the living and the dead. She represents the capacity to walk between the light and the shadow, her myth reminds us that true strength often arises from the balance between the light and dark, showing us that even the most difficult experiences can be a path to empowerment and growth.

Transformation to achieve goals

We have an exact opposition between Pluto in Capricorn and Mars in Cancer, this can be a challenging aspect that bring up themes related to emotional boundaries, security, control and balancing ambitions with emotional needs. Capricorn is a sign that likes to set goals, its often depicted as the mountain goat of the zodiac. Capricorn embodies ambition, resilience and a keen sense of responsibility. It is the enduring earth sign that looks up and climbs the cliff to success. with the opposition to Cancer its a reminder that we can have the focus, determination and endurance to achieve our long term goals, but by remembering Cancers emphasis on emotional authenticity, its a subtle reminder for us stay grounded in our authentic self. Embracing these energies highlights a powerful opportunity to break free from old patterns, be it emotional, psychological, or even professional, If we have been holding onto habits, relationships, or thoughts that no longer serve us, this period offers opportunity to work with the deepest shadows. This new moon is an ideal time for healing and letting go, Whether it’s physical, emotional, or spiritual, this Moon supports the processes of recovery, open the door to deep healing and can start moving forward with renewed energy.

Heightened Intuition with the water Grand Trine

Saturn in Pisces is helping us with this new moon, Saturn likes structure and is giving us the opportunity to step up take responsibility to reclaim our power. By using the disciplined structured energy of Saturn with the mystical nature of Pisces, it speaks of responsibility, and vision. Saturn encourages us to face reality addressing fears and illusions, A reality check that can potentially helps us to build long lasting foundations. With a bit of focus its a chance to lay down new tracks for the future, reminding us to take time to have compassion for ourselves and others along our journey.

Mars the planet of action is in a harmonious trine aspect to Neptune the planet of vision. This brings with it an opportunity to blend inspired action with sensitivity and resilience. By using the trines energy, it supports actions rooted in emotion and compassion combined with patience and discipline to see things through. We can use this blend of energies to help us connect to the spiritual, strengthen intuition, or build on our inner knowing. Mars in Cancer is also helping this transformative new moon by supporting us to see any emotional baggage to let go of, and transmute, It suggests we take time to sit with those emotions as our instincts may be sharper than usual. It’s a great time to trust gut feelings, explore inner wisdom, and perhaps engage and explore our connection to our inner most self. Mercury in Scorpio is the third player in this grand water trine and is geared towards the psychological. It has a knack for uncovering secrets, going beneath the surface with laser like focus and the potential for deep introspection. Its a great time to get real with oneself by working on those inner most shadows, helping us to understand and get rid of any outdated patterns that hold us back. This moon is a chance to go within, have an honest conversation with ourselves, and break any negative or outdated cycles to make way for the new. When we understand the patterns, we have a unique opportunity to break the circuit, giving us a chance to move forward embodying the full potential of this new Moon.

The Magician

If we embody the Tarot card the Magician, who’s architype is the manifestation, creativity and skill. He represents the bridge between the spiritual and physical realm. The magician holds the power to transform ideas into reality. Using the Symbology of all four elements wands, swords, cups and pentacles. He channels universal energy, showing the mastery over mind, emotions and willpower. The card symbolises resourcefulness, self-confidence, and the potential for new beginnings, he urges us to trust in our abilities to align with our true purpose. Rooted in wisdom and intention, The Magician encourages us to harness our inner power making dreams and goals achievable, through focused action.

The Magician

In conclusion, as we still go through the process of Uranus in Taurus still shaking things up, and Pluto in Capricorn helping to transform outdated structures, this new moon in Scorpio is all about transformation. Scorpio isn’t about superficial change, its about long lasting, meaningful transformation. Its an opportunity to clear the deadwood and plant the seeds for a more authentic, empowered version of yourself.

Libra Solar Eclipse October 2nd 2024

On 2nd October 2024, a solar eclipse will occur at 11:46 AM Pacific Time (7:49 PM UK time), positioned at 10 degrees and 2 minutes in Libra. This eclipse will be an annular solar eclipse.

Eclipse Chart

The upcoming solar eclipse is with the new moon in Libra. A solar eclipse can only happen during a new moon. A solar eclipse happens when one of the nodes, either the south node or north node, is with the new moon. This new moon is also part of the previous lunar eclipse in Pisces as we are still in the letting go energy of these eclipse cycles.

What’s this Eclipse about? Endings, New beginnings! A course correction is up to you! It suggests letting go of something old to bring in something new.

Let’s start with the nodes. In astrology, the The South Node reveals the shadow work that individually or as a collective we must deal with in order to evolve. It represents qualities, traits, or behaviours that come from past experiences. It reflects the comfort zone or familiar patterns that we tend to rely on. The south node can also be the place where we might get stuck in old patterns or cycles of behaviour.

When the South Node is in Libra, it’s asking what is fair? Can we leave behind people-pleasing tendencies that cost us our authenticity. On the other other hand the north node in Aries, the sign of independence, action & pioneering leadership, is asking us to move towards being independent and have the ability to Forge new paths for ourselves and trust our own ideas.

Aries

Aries is a cardinal sign whose ruler is Mars, the planet of passion, drive, and determination! It is the sign of the individual that shouts, “I am.”

Libra

Libra, on the other hand, is a cardinal air sign who’s ruled by Venus. Venus is associated with beauty, harmony & relationships. Libra is the sign of balance cooperation and has a need for diplomacy! So both these themes are particularly prevalent when the Libra/Aries self verses other axis are activated.

With the Moon square mars bringing tension, this eclipse suggests compromise could be a particularly big theme over the next couple of months. The key challenge with this eclipse is to balance your natural relationship skills with personal strength and self-direction. It marks a powerful opportunity for personal reflection and realignment, particularly in relationships and partnerships of any kind.

The ruler of the eclipse is Venus, who has just moved into Scorpio. Venus rules love, relationships, and values. In Scorpio, it brings intensity, passion, and a deep desire for transformative and intimate connections. There’s often a magnetic and secretive nature to how Venus in Scorpio’s affection is expressed. The lower expression could be seen as intensely passionate and controlling, but if we incorporate the elevated, more evolved expression of Venus in Scorpio it asks us to take a step back and detach, lets see the bigger picture to help bring about those transformations within our relationships.

Venus in Scorpio is also one of the planets that is part of an ongoing GRAND TRINE .

What’s a Grand Trine?

A Grand Trine in astrology occurs when three planets are each about 120 degrees apart, forming an equilateral triangle in the chart. This aspect is considered harmonious and provides an easy flow of energy between the 3 planets involved.

This particular grand trine incorporates Mars in Cancer, the aforementioned Venus in Scorpio, and Saturn in Pisces. This is a water Grand trine that represents emotional depth, intuition, and sensitivity.

The next planet in the grand trine is Mars in Cancer! Mars, which represents action, drive, and assertiveness, in the sign of Cancer, a cardinal water sign. It tends to be a more protective and emotionally driven mars. It takes action based on emotional needs or in defence of loved ones. Mars in cancer can also sometimes be indirect, sensitive, and emotionally reactive in its expression.

Completing the grand trine, we have Saturn in Pisces. Saturn represents discipline, responsibility, and structure. It gives those who work hard rewards in time. In Pisces, it can be more spiritual and compassionate, but there’s also the challenge of bringing structure to creative or idealistic visions. The appropriate card in Tarot would be the Star card. Saturn in Pisces can teach lessons around emotional boundaries and the practical side of empathy.

Adding the three planets together, this Grand Trine in Water suggests strong emotional intuition and flow between your Action (Mars), relationships (Venus), and sense of responsibility or life lessons (Saturn). It indicates that you can navigate deep emotional waters using intuition to act, relate, and take responsibility.

In conclusion, this solar eclipse is about balance and cooperation of self and other. With the added energy of the grand trine, it gives us the imagination and discipline to lay down new foundations and start to solidify goals. It’s about restoring the equilibrium inside and out, shedding the old outdated ways that may have contributed to the original imbalances.

As always, Eclipses are known for bringing moments of change! Energies of this eclipse may spark new beginnings or reveal necessary endings, encouraging us to make adjustments that better align with our true direction and purpose.

Partial lunar Eclipse in Pisces

September 17th/18th brings both a Partial Lunar Eclipse and a Super Moon. This makes it a rare and special Super Moon Lunar Eclipse. Super Moon Meaning that the Moon is much closer to the Earth in its orbit.

It’s happening at 3.45pm PST on the 17th and at 3.34am on the 18th BST. The partial lunar Eclipse will be in the sign of Pisces at 25 degrees 40 min.

The Eclipse

Eclipses are known for bringing sudden changes, insights, and opportunities to release old patterns. Full Moons represent completion, illumination, and culmination, and when paired with an eclipse, these themes become even more powerful.
A partial lunar eclipse with a Super Moon is a combination of two celestial events happening at the same time.

A Partial Lunar Eclipse occurs when only part of the Moon enters the Earth’s shadow, causing a portion of the Moon to appear darkened. The Earth is positioned between the Sun and the Moon, but they aren’t perfectly aligned. This results in only part of the Moon being covered by the Earth’s shadow (umbra), while the rest remains illuminated by sunlight or in the lighter penumbral shadow.

The Super Moon

As stated above a Super Moon happens when the Moon is at or near its closest point to Earth in its elliptical orbit, called the perigee. When the Moon is closer to Earth, it appears larger and brighter than usual.

When these two events happen you see a slightly larger and brighter Moon. This is due to the Super Moon effect, but a portion of the Moon will be covered by the Earth’s shadow.
It can be an impressive sight! Not only is the Moon larger than usual, but you also get the visual of part of the moon being eclipsed.

Influences

The influence of a partial lunar eclipse in Pisces may bring heightened sensitivity, encourage introspection, and amplify emotional awareness. This could lead to a deeper understanding of our inner feelings. It could perhaps even give us a sense of spiritual connection and healing. Eclipses can also signify the closure of certain emotional or life chapter. With Pisces involved, it might feel especially profound or even mystical.

If you know your chart, you could determine which houses and life areas of your chart might be most impacted. You could also look back to between March 2016 to feb 2017, last time we saw the Pisces/Virgo eclipses axis, and look at what themes may have come up for you at that time. By looking back It may give you an indication or flavour this time round.

This eclipse may particularly affect those who have planets or significant points around 25 degrees in Pisces or other mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius). It can stir up heightened sensitivity and emotional intensity, but it also brings an opportunity for healing and inner transformation. Pay attention to Dreams as they could be more vivid during this period, offering insights into unresolved issues or hidden truths. These dreams can provide profound spiritual insights and a deep connection to the unconscious mind, our imagination. I keep a book by my bedside table and often scramble in the morning to recall and record my dreams. It can be eye-opening and super helpful to look back at the themes and correlating dates.

Pisces

Pisces is a water sign, known for its dreamy, intuitive, and spiritual nature. It has connections to our deepest emotions, the subconscious, and our imagination. During this eclipse, the energy of Pisces gives opportunity for us to reflect on our emotional well-being, spiritual growth, and creative pursuits. This is an excellent time to release emotional baggage or habits that no longer serve you. Pisces, being ruled by Neptune, also asks us to trust our intuition. It can allow ourselves to connect with our inner voice.

The Sun in Virgo

With the Sun in Virgo opposing the Pisces Moon, it invites us to balance the practical, detail-oriented energy of Virgo with Pisces’ more fluid, emotional approach. This eclipse motivates us to find harmony between our spiritual aspirations and the practical tasks of daily life. This partial lunar eclipse could also signify a focus on health and wellbeing of mind and body as the Moon is conjunct Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces amplifying all of Pisces themes. Feelings of deep compassion, connection to others on an emotional or spiritual level, or heightened sense of intuition. However, it can also bring confusion or muddy the water, making it difficult to see situations clearly. Neptune’s influence can play out like a Hollywood movie by sometimes dissolving, blurring the lines between fantasy and reality, resulting in making us feel more ungrounded. Take time to ask yourself, is what i am seeing actual reality? Time out for creative and spiritual pursuits could be a great way to use this energy effectively. Helping us to stay grounded, go within, and connect with our intuition.

Pisces Virgo Axis

As the Pisces Virgo axis is being highlighted we could also see themes related to health with Pisces Moon symbolising the lymphatic system/immune system and Sun in Virgo, with a focus on health and well-being giving opportunity to purify and detox the system.

Lastly Lunar Eclipses have the uncanny ability to close doors bringing about the end of a chapter thats outdated, one that no longer serves our higher good, but have had difficulty closing. In such cases an eclipse can be a welcomed event that gives us that nudge in the right direction. On the other hand a Lunar Eclipse can bring unexpected and swift endings. This is by way of shaking up our lives with events, that upon later reflection strangely set us on the right path, giving a sense of fated events and permanent change.

Ultimately, this partial Eclipse is a chance for deep emotional release and renewal. Its urging us to let go of what no longer serves our higher purpose.
